In 2010, my parents, brother and I went on a road trip to Virginia to visit extended family. As part of our holiday, we went to Luray and explored caverns. It was amazing to experience seeing stalagmites and stalactites up close, in person, as opposed to in a textbook from school. They were massive! In addition to that, there were pockets of water that beautifully reflected the rock formations. It was so beautiful to witness the results of slow natural development.
